Reindeer Christmas Card Using the Cricut Machine

This Christmas Card is 5"x7".  Cut your paper 10" x 7" and fold in half.
Cut the next sheet 1/4" smaller than 5"x7".  Paste the two sheets together.  You will see a 1/4" border.

Next cut a sheet of paper 3 1/2" x 5". Now cut a sheet 1/4" smaller than the 3 1/2"x5". You will see a 1/4" border.  Glue these two sheets together.

Cut out a border to glue on the bottom of the 3/12"x5" sheets.  You make use any design and any height you like best.  Now use a piece of ribbon on the 3 1/2"x5" bottom. Wrap a small amount of ribbon to the back and tape the ribbon to the back.  Then take another piece of ribbon and make a knot and cut the ends.

Stamp "Merry Christmas" to the top of the 3 1/2"x5" sheet.  You can color in the areas of the stamp or leave as is.

Now you can use pop ups to attach the 3 1/2"x5" sheets to the 5"x7" sheets.  You will see that it is raised a little and not sitting flat on the 5"x7" papers.  This gives some dimension.

Lastly, I used my Cricut Expression and the "Joy of the Season" cartridge to cut out the deer on page 35.  I cut the deer at 3".  I first cut out the deer using the SHADOW.  Next I used the Deer1.  I used a lighter brown color for the shadow and a darker brown for the deer and a yellow for the antlers, tail and maine.  I used red for the collar.  I used pop ups when pasting the deer to the shadow and I glued the tail, antlers and collar and maine.

Lastly, I used pop ups when attaching the deer to the 5"x7" sheets.

(Use coordinating colors for paper.  Example: Dark green and Light green or red and white.)

I cut a 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" piece of white paper and taped it to the inside of the card so I could write Merry Christmas and Happy New Year inside the card.

Hope you enjoy making this card.
