School (Family) Bus Card - Stretch Your Imagination and George and Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridges

I cut the bus using Stretch Your Imagination Cricut Cartridge.
I cut the lettering "Family Bus" from George and basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge.

To make this bus big enough to insert pictures that are clear, you will need to use your 12x24 mat. It is possible to make a smaller bus using your 12x12 mat, but your pictures will have to be very small.

I used Provo Crafts 12x24 Basic Brights Yellow Cardstock for the bus and purple for the blackout bus (you could use black cardstock is you like)

I used my Design Studio since I flipped one bus to go in the opposite direction of the other and welded them together. If you don't use the welding function it will cut both buses out as two pieces instead of one. Do the same with the blackout bus.

Bus is cut at 10.169W and 5.056H
Blackout Bus is cut at the same size
Use Layers for the black tires, banner and steering wheel and cut at 6.35W and 2.431H

DIRECTIONS:
1. Cut your pieces
2. Cut your photos
3. Glue photo between the bus and blackout bus pieces
4. Glue blackout bus to bus
5. Fold bus and blackout bus at the back, to make your card fold
6. Glue layers on bus
7. Glue yellow hubs on bus (from your bus cutout)
8. Cut Lettering to glue on the banner (under windows)
9. Add ribbon

You could use your friends photo's and call it the "friends bus" or "church bus" or whatever fits the occasion.

This was a fun card to make.  The pictures really give the card dimension.

You can write on the inside of the bus and you could also add more embellishments, if you like.

Try this project/card -- I think you will really enjoy it.

February Calendar - Designer's Calendar Cricut Cartridge

This February 2011 calendar is made using the Designer's Calendar Cricut cartridge. The calendar is 8"x8 1/2".

Recipe:
Background Colors of Cardstock: Teal 8"x8 1/2", Brown 7 3/4"x8 1/4"
Background Printed Paper: The Paper Studio - Affinity - cut at 7 1/2"x8"
Calendar outline from cartridge - Teal cardstock - cut at 7 1/2"x6"
Heart - red cardstock - cut at 3/4" (pg 29)
Cake - cardstock layered with print paper - cut at 1" (pg 59)
February -teal cardstock - cut script shadow 4.007w and 1.63h
February - mustard color cardstock -cut script 3.918w and 1.553h
Days of the month - forest green cardstock - cut at .781h
Stickles Gold - I like glitter and added it to my, days of the week letters

Glue the above together and you have a nice calendar.

I will be making the rest of the calendar's for the year and will bind them together. I will post the finished project when I have completed it.

You can make your calendar's larger or smaller, depending on where you will be placing your calendar. I have my calendar's on my desk and it is the perfect size for me.  This cartridge has a lot of embellishments you can use for other projects and to make a calendar is really easy. There is a lot of gluing little pieces together, so I use  my Zig 2-way glue with the chisel tip. I also discovered that I like the background paper showing through the calendar versus a plain colored sheet of cardstock.

Have fun making your own calendar's with your own creativity!

Ski Card - Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge

RECIPE:

The card is 10"x7" folded to 5"x7" and was made using my favorite Cricut cartridge, Everyday Paper Dolls .  Each layer (green, brown and blue snowflakes) is 1/4" smaller than the one behind it, starting at 5"x7". The girl, dressed to go skiing, is cut at 3 3/4".  She is wearing a pink scarf, hat, glasses, snow suit and mittens with a green shirt and brown boots cut at 3 3/4".  These items were cut from pages 36-37 on the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cartridge. The ribbon is pink with brown dots from the Ribbon Boutique #330985. The "Let's go skiing" embellishment is from page 42 and is hanwritten since this cartridge has no fonts and cut at 3" and 3 1/4" for the shadow effect. I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder, Oriental Weave, for the snow. Diamond Stickles is used on the background and snow, for a little glitter. The optional color I used is blue.
